Profhilo is an injectable hyaluronic acid product used to improve skin quality. Its distribution within the tissue supports hydration. Injection points and treatment intervals follow a plan tailored to the product and the region.
Profhilo may be suitable if you would like more supple skin and are beginning to notice changes in elasticity. We assess hydration in the chosen region and explain what degree of improvement is realistic with this treatment.
We assess whether the product is suitable for your skin, taking your medical history into account. Please tell us about pregnancy, breastfeeding, allergies and any previous intolerances. Careful injection technique, guided by anatomy and supported by hygienic practice, is essential for safety.
After injections, temporary swelling, small bruises or tenderness may occur. Infection, persistent nodules and allergic reactions are not typical short-term side effects. Rare vascular complications can seriously affect tissue or vision and require prompt medical treatment. These differences are explained clearly during your consultation.
Bruising, swelling and tenderness can occur. Less common complications include infection, persistent lumps and allergic reactions. Accidental injection into a blood vessel can cause tissue damage and, in facial injections, serious visual complications.
For classic Profhilo, our usual treatment schedule is based on months 0, 1 and 6: the first treatment, a second treatment after one month and a top-up, if needed, around six months after starting. We may adjust this plan based on your skin assessment and progress at follow-up.
During your Profhilo consultation, we assess your skin’s elasticity and discuss your goal of greater suppleness. A personal skin assessment shows which region may benefit from this approach. Previous treatments and your medical history are also considered in the recommendation.
The planned Profhilo injection points are selected according to the region. After cleansing and disinfection, we review the procedure with you again. Local anaesthesia can be used if needed, depending on your sensitivity, before the hyaluronic acid is injected.
We inject Profhilo at the planned points in the treatment area. During treatment, we monitor the skin response and adjust the procedure to keep you as comfortable as possible.
After the first and second Profhilo treatments, the skin response is assessed. Changes in skin quality help determine whether the top-up planned for month six is appropriate or whether a different interval would be better.
For your Profhilo appointment, previous injections and recent skin treatments are important. Please also tell us about allergies and medications; do not stop prescribed medicines on your own. If you have herpes, infection or inflamed skin in the intended area, contact the practice beforehand.
Do not massage or try to smooth out small bumps after Profhilo unless instructed. Keep the skin clean and follow your personalised aftercare advice about exercise and heat exposure. Only touch or press on the treated areas as instructed. Severe pain, pale or discoloured skin or visual symptoms require immediate medical attention.
We usually assess skin quality 4–8 weeks after the first two sessions. The effect may last around 6–9 months and varies from person to person. With our usual 0–1–6 month treatment schedule, we consider a top-up at month six based on your progress.

Downtime is usually minimal
Redness, swelling, tenderness and bruising can occur at the injection sites. These reactions often settle within a few days, although visible marks may last longer.
Additional injections, skin treatments or energy-based procedures may be useful when appropriate. We assess each combination, plan the sequence and allow sufficient time between treatments.
With Profhilo, we assess hydration, elasticity and deeper tissue structures separately to define the right treatment goal. The procedure is planned according to your skin condition and the product instructions. Follow-up after the initial treatment phase provides the basis for further appointments.
