In this therapy, collagen plays a key role. Collagen is a protein fiber found in the skin and connective tissue. Everyone loses collagen over time, which eventually leads to skin laxity and an increased appearance of wrinkles.

In collagen thread therapy, collagen threads are placed in specific areas of the face. The newly inserted collagen helps rejuvenate the skin and smooth out wrinkles.

WHAT DOES COLLAGEN THREAD THERAPY LOOK LIKE?

The therapy is performed on an outpatient basis under sterile conditions. Before the actual therapy, one of our doctors will conduct a consultation to discuss your goals and whether collagen thread therapy is suitable for you.

Afterward, the skin is thoroughly cleansed, and an anesthetic cream is applied to minimize discomfort. During the therapy, thin threads made from resorbable material are inserted into your skin using fine needles.

Your doctor will strategically position the threads to achieve the desired lifting effect. The threads can be gently tightened. After placement, the skin is thoroughly cleansed.

You will receive aftercare instructions for the following days. The treatment takes 30–60 minutes, depending on the number of threads used.

WHAT SHOULD YOU KNOW BEFORE AND AFTER COLLAGEN THREAD THERAPY?

Before therapy:

Avoid retinol products, chemical peels, and treatments with fillers or Botulinum toxin for 7 days before the procedure.
The therapy is suitable for all skin types due to its gentle application, except in cases of severe acne.

After therapy:

Avoid strong sun exposure and avoid washing or showering to allow the ingredients to take effect.
You may resume your usual skincare routine the next day.

WHAT SIDE EFFECTS MAY OCCUR?

Side effects may vary depending on individual skin sensitivity and the technique used.

Known side effects include:

  • Redness and swelling, which usually subside after a few days

  • Small bruises that fade within a few days

  • Sensitivity or pain – mild tenderness in treated areas that can be relieved with over-the-counter painkillers

  • Sensation of the threads – in rare cases, the threads may be temporarily felt, but this sensation disappears once they begin working
