CO₂ Laser for the Eyelids consultation

Treatment Overview

CO₂ laser treatment of the eyelids treats tiny, precisely targeted areas of skin while leaving surrounding skin intact to support healing. The treatment focuses on texture and fine lines and is carefully adapted to skin thickness and eyelid function.

CO₂ Laser for the Eyelids treatment

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Fine lines and selected textural irregularities of the eyelids may be treated. Dry eyes, previous eyelid surgery and lower-eyelid support are given particular consideration.

CO₂ Laser for the Eyelids safety

Safety and Tolerability

Skin type, tendency to develop pigmentation changes and wound healing are considered before laser treatment. Infection, herpes reactivation, delayed healing, scarring and persistent colour changes are not expected short-term healing reactions and require appropriate assessment. Appropriate eye protection and personalised aftercare are part of the plan. For the eyelid area, eyelid function and the risk of eye injury are also taken into account.

Treatment Process

Fine lines, skin sensitivity and lower-eyelid support are assessed together. We tailor the plan to the treatments suitable for you and how well your skin tolerates them.

Preparation and Aftercare

Before the treatment

Tell us about dry eyes, previous eyelid procedures, allergies, herpes and medications. Prescribed medication should remain unchanged until discussed with a doctor. Tanning, broken skin or current inflammation must be assessed beforehand.

After the treatment

The eyelid skin requires particularly gentle wound care. Avoid rubbing, picking at crusts and using eye make-up too early. Follow your personalised sun-protection plan. Severe eye pain or any change in vision requires immediate medical attention.

Results

The skin surface may appear smoother after 2–6 weeks. Collagen-related changes continue to develop and are assessed over 3–6 months. Deep wrinkles or more pronounced changes in eyelid position cannot be reliably corrected with this treatment.

Local anaesthesia helps reduce discomfort, although warmth, burning or tightness may still be felt during treatment. Local anaesthesia is required. Expected downtime is around 5–14 days. Redness, swelling, warmth and fine crusting or flaking may occur during the early stages of healing. Depending on the treatment intensity, slight oozing may also occur. Worsening symptoms or signs of inflammation should be medically assessed.
