What is Exosome-Based Preparations?
With this approach, autologous exosomes are derived from your own blood. The prepared plasma is conditioned with light and heat in the MCT device to promote the release of the body’s own vesicles. In addition to these tiny vesicles, which carry signals between cells, the preparation contains other plasma components. We assess its suitability for each skin or scalp treatment individually; robust clinical data on effectiveness and long-term safety remain limited.
What does Exosome-Based Preparations entail?
After taking a blood sample and preparing the plasma, we condition it in the MCT system. Around 60 minutes are allowed for preparation. Exo-Tech Gel can also be produced: a separate portion of plasma is processed into a gel in the Exo-Tech device and then combined with the liquid MCT preparation. We select a suitable treatment method based on the area and the results of your assessment.
Applications of Exosome-Based Preparations
Autologous exosome treatment is one of Dr Darko Nikolic’s areas of clinical focus. It may be considered for selected skin concerns and hair thinning, depending on your assessment and treatment goals. The liquid MCT preparation and Exo-Tech Gel have different properties; the choice of preparation and how it is used depend on the treatment area. We combine experience in regenerative procedures with a careful assessment of your suitability.
Safety of Exosome-Based Preparations
Treatment involves carefully preparing the material from your own blood and selecting a suitable method of application. Temporary sensitivity or small bruises may occur. Before treatment, your doctor will explain possible side effects and more serious risks, including infection, unwanted tissue reactions and, with injections, vascular complications.
Before and Aftercare
Information about blood and clotting disorders, medications and previous treatments helps us plan your care. Do not change prescribed medication on your own. We assess any existing skin or scalp inflammation before treatment; please bring any available reports.
Aftercare depends on the treatment area and method. Avoid disturbing the sites where blood was taken or injections were given. Increasing pain, redness or fever should be medically assessed. After injections, severe pain, unusual skin discolouration or visual changes require immediate medical attention.
At follow-up appointments, we assess how well you have tolerated treatment and compare the condition of your skin or scalp with its condition before treatment. For scalp treatment, we document changes in your hair over several months. With autologous exosomes, current evidence does not allow us to predict a specific result or reliably estimate when effects may appear; any decision to continue treatment depends on your individual assessment.
