Fractional laser pulses are applied to the agreed areas of skin around the mouth. Treatment depth and density are adjusted to the wrinkle pattern and the area around the lip border. Local anaesthesia helps reduce discomfort, although warmth, burning or tightness may still be felt during treatment.
At the end of the session, we assess the immediate response of the treated area. Lines may gradually become finer over 2–6 weeks as the skin continues to renew. Aftercare and follow-up appointments are tailored accordingly.
Tell us about previous herpes outbreaks, lip fillers, medications and wound-healing problems. Preventive herpes medication may be recommended by the doctor. Do not change prescribed medication on your own; avoid tanning and have any acute inflammation assessed before treatment.
Care for the mouth area according to your wound-care plan and avoid friction or picking at crusts. Use lip cosmetics only after you have been advised that it is safe. Blisters, increasing pain, oozing or other signs of inflammation should be reported promptly.
