What is lip enhancement?
Lip enhancement uses hyaluronic acid filler injected into selected areas of the lips. The gel holds water and adds volume within the tissue, allowing precise shaping of the border, Cupid’s bow and lip body.
When do you choose this treatment?
Consider lip enhancement if your lips have lost fullness, their outline feels less defined or you want better balance between the upper and lower lip. Treatment can also enhance naturally thin lips.
Safety of Hyaluronic Acid Dermal Filler
Your consultation covers the filler, treatment area and relevant risks. Swelling and bruising are common. Rarely, filler can obstruct a blood vessel and damage tissue or affect vision. Severe pain, unusual skin colour or any visual change needs emergency assessment.

Before and aftercare
Before the treatment
Share your medical history, allergies, medicines and previous procedures, and do not stop prescribed medicine unless the prescribing clinician advises it. Postpone treatment if there is active infection, a dental infection or inflamed skin near the area.
After the treatment
Avoid pressing the area, strenuous exercise, alcohol and strong heat for the period advised, and seek urgent help for severe pain, pale skin or any visual change.

Lips look fuller with a more defined outline straight after treatment, with the settled shape assessed after about 1-2 weeks. Results commonly last about 6-18 months, depending on the filler, the amount used and how quickly your body breaks it down.
