Treatment Overview

Melanostop is a professional pigmentation peel by Mesoestetic. The appropriate formulation is selected according to the type and depth of pigmentation. It supports superficial skin renewal and may help create a more even-looking skin tone.

Who is this treatment suitable for?

Suitable superficial pigmentation may be treated with Melanostop. The type and depth of the pigmentation are assessed first, and any new or changing areas must be medically evaluated before treatment.

Melanostop Peel safety

Safety and Tolerability

Peel formulation and strength are selected according to your skin barrier, tendency to develop pigmentation changes and medical history. Temporary peeling may be expected, but chemical burns, infection, herpes reactivation, scarring and persistent pigment changes are possible complications. Personalised preparation and aftercare take these risks into account.

Temporary burning, redness, dryness and flaking may occur. Less commonly, chemical burns, infection, persistent redness, darker or lighter pigmentation and scarring can develop. Please tell us about previous herpes outbreaks or pigment changes before treatment.

Temporary stinging, redness, dryness and flaking may occur. Less common complications include burns, infection, prolonged redness, darker or lighter patches and scarring. Tell your practitioner about previous cold sores or pigment changes.

Treatment Process

We consider how your pigmentation developed and how it has changed over time. We tailor the plan to the treatments suitable for you and how well your skin tolerates them.

Preparation and Aftercare

Before the treatment

Please tell us about previous pigment changes, herpes, medications and earlier peels, including any use of isotretinoin. Do not change prescribed medication without medical advice. Avoid tanning; sun-damaged, broken or infected skin is assessed before treatment.

After the treatment

Consistent sun protection and an appropriate skincare routine for pigmentation are part of the treatment plan. Avoid friction and pause additional acids as advised. Do not pick at flaking skin, and contact us if irritation increases or the pigmentation unexpectedly darkens.

Results

Initial changes may become visible after 1–2 weeks, while the skin tone is usually reassessed after around 4–8 weeks. Several sessions may be required. Pigmentation can recur, which is why consistent sun protection remains important.
