What is Radiofrequency Microneedling?
Radiofrequency microneedling combines fine needles with controlled heat in selected layers of the skin. The collagen remodelling that follows may improve skin texture and firmness. Needle depth and energy settings are adjusted to suit the area being treated. Scalp treatment has different goals from treatment for wrinkles or scars and requires a separate assessment.

What does Radiofrequency Microneedling entail?
After cleansing, disinfection and appropriate anaesthesia, we treat the selected areas using a sterile needle tip. Needle depth and energy settings are adjusted for each area. You may feel pressure, warmth or brief stinging; we monitor your skin’s response throughout.
Applications of Radiofrequency Microneedling
RF microneedling may be considered for acne scars, visibly enlarged pores, fine lines and mild skin laxity. Stretch marks require a separate treatment plan tailored to the area. RF microneedling and collagen stimulation are among Dr Darko Nikolic’s areas of clinical focus. Use as a complementary scalp treatment is assessed separately because the evidence remains limited.

Safety of Radiofrequency Microneedling
Settings and treatment depth are chosen to suit your skin and the area being treated. Mild redness, swelling or needle marks may occur temporarily. Your doctor will explain possible complications, such as infection, pigment changes, burns, scarring and injury to fat tissue or nerves. The consultation includes advice specific to your treatment and aftercare.
Before and Aftercare
Please tell us about implants, medications, any history of herpes and previous procedures. Change prescribed medication only after seeking medical advice. We take recent tanning, acute inflammation and the use of irritating products into account before treatment.
Care for the treated area gently and use appropriate sun protection. Avoid make-up, hair products, exercise and heat exposure for the period specified in your aftercare plan. Severe pain, blisters, signs of inflammation or persistent changes in sensation should be medically assessed promptly.
With skin treatments, initial changes in texture may become noticeable after around 2–4 weeks; collagen remodelling continues over the following months. For scalp treatment, we monitor changes in your hair. Results from skin treatment cannot be used to predict effects on hair growth.

Personal consultation
During your consultation at DIVINE Medica, we focus on your specific concern and the area you would like treated. Together, we discuss whether RF microneedling is suitable, what treatment intensity is appropriate, how long recovery may take and what aftercare you will need. A 30-minute consultation costs €75.

Skin thickness, the treatment area and your goals determine the needle depth. Different areas may need different settings. Scalp treatment and stretch mark treatment each require a separate plan.
Initial recovery and the slower process of tissue remodelling take different amounts of time. Hair treatments also need to take the hair growth cycle into account. We therefore plan follow-up appointments around your treatment goals and record progress over several months.
