Product and treatment overview
Fractional CO₂ laser treats small areas of skin, leaving tissue between them to support healing. Targeted tissue removal and heat can promote skin renewal and stimulate remodelling in collagen-containing structures.

How the treatment is performed
Skin type, our assessment and the treatment area determine the depth and density of treatment. After cleansing, suitable anaesthesia and eye protection, the area is treated systematically. The procedure ends with appropriate wound care.
Applications
At DIVINE Medica in Munich, fractional CO₂ laser is used to treat suitable types of wrinkles, acne scars and other scars, and for skin tightening in selected cases. Sensitive areas require separate planning. The achievable result depends on the type and depth of the skin changes.

Safety
Redness, swelling, oozing and fine crusts may occur during healing. We also discuss the risks of infection, herpes reactivation, persistent pigmentation changes and scarring. Skin type, treatment intensity and your individual wound healing guide preventive measures and the follow-up plan.
Preparation and aftercare
Avoid tanning before treatment and discuss previous laser treatments, medications and any history of herpes. We review your skincare for irritating active ingredients before the appointment. Only change prescribed medication after consulting your doctor; we decide individually whether preventive treatment for herpes is needed.
The recommended wound care supports skin renewal. Leave crusts and peeling skin undisturbed; consistent sun protection is essential. Use make-up and skincare with active ingredients only when advised. Please report increasing pain, signs of inflammation, blisters or fever promptly.
Initial healing often takes approximately 1–3 weeks, depending on the area and intensity. Redness may remain visible for longer. The skin's structure continues to change afterwards, with progress assessed over approximately 3–6 months.

Personal consultation
During your CO₂ laser consultation, we assess skin texture, scar depth or wrinkle patterns alongside skin type and healing needs. We recommend an appropriate treatment intensity and provide a clear aftercare plan. A 30-minute consultation costs €75.

The settings depend on skin type, treatment area and the type of skin change. Scar depth, your tendency to develop pigmentation changes and available recovery time are also considered. The appropriate intensity is therefore determined individually.
Appropriate wound care and consistent sun protection support skin renewal. Do not pick off crusts or peeling skin. When you can resume make-up, skincare with active ingredients and strenuous activity depends on how your skin heals.
